8:43 PM - Oct 3rd - Greek fest 4 hours + after hours at Migration and Side Step. Followed by a write up for the AAA. We'll see where this goes. I apologize in advance for typos and thoughts that don't really make sense or don't finish. I should be in be.

September 18th late night around 9 - Text from leader in the clubhouse. We can't play pouring down rain. AAA organizer in Seattle about to pass out and puke due to hours of tailgating and watching the Huskies get smoked by Nebraska. I feel like I am in the same state now but the Huskies won on Saturday so I guess I the fact I feel like puking is really the only comparison to tourney day.

September 19th - Day of Tourney - Wake up at 530am and drive to Portland. Arrive around 9. Run into a old fling who said " i don't see myself dating you". At course by 10 something.

10 Something - No rain. No carts. Nobody around. Eat hot dog.

First Tee Time - No rain. Everyone was ready to go. Players confused by the fact that no cart was available although it was emailed out to request a cart early. Those that did get ask for a cart got a cart. Thank you for reading the emails. Those that didn't but wanted a cart eventually found themselves in a motorized machine. Winter rules? Summer rules? Preferred lies? Female participants? Rain? Mud? Let's play golf.

Hole 1 - No rain. Bob and Tim Albright started the tourney. They posted a par which was "par" for the day since everyone basically did the same thing. A few of them hot shots posted birdies but it is the first hole so who cares. Welcome newcombers Christy, Lindsay and Kristen.

Hole 2. - No rain. Short par 5 with some good scores destine to happen. A few of us posted eagles which was expected as mentioned early. And the those that decided to put the women and children to bed and go looking for some dinner made some space on the leader board.

Hole 3 - No rain. Beautiful ladies running on the path and Bob R. goes big. He posts a good KP early which no one beat and netted a 1. The likes of Rich and Tubes and Asian and Christy posted a 1 too but Bob's shot was amazing. I didn't see it but the 47 year old training for her first marathon told me is was really really good. I trust her. I told her to continue the training. One and done isn't healthy.

Hole 4 - No rain. Up hill, wet, up hill, water bunkers. You think it would be an easy hole. Only one eagle posted by the first group out. . Jim and Andy still talking over a 75ft putt on one. Jeff patiently still waiting on the first tee

Hole 5 - No rain. Long par 3. The ladies were hoping for a shorter tee box to make their run but due to Greenskeeper Joe they were forced to tee off only 10 yards ahead of us a - holes. Fair? Probably not since that hole didnt' give up any eagles which is a little bit of a surprised since the Dann and Fred were hitting 4 irons all week at the range knowing this is where they needed to make there run. They netted a 3 on that hole which was a huge disappointed for them due to the fact Fred even brought out the Voit Range ball to the tee to make the best of his tee shot.

Hole 6 - No rain...For my group. However, I think the clouds were hinting a chance for showers. Another surprise the short par 4 gave up no eagles. I guess the rain, hill, beautiful view of Gresham was to much for the tour.

Hole 7 - Pissing. Absolutely raining as hard as it possibly could in the pdx. Team Coach and Tim posted an eagle in the rain along with fellow Sprague buddies Rinker and Larry. In a interview at the turn both teams mentioned the hole wasn't as hard as everyone thought it was due to the fact they used to ice block similar holes at Battle Creek golf course in Salem giving them a huge advantage of hitting their second shot off up hill lies.

Hole 8 - No rain. Ian, Dave, Doc Nufer and Bob R. - quietly going about their business and loving the humid summer day. Ian is amazed by the Docs technology of cell phone, email and pagers and life and has booked an appointment with AT&T to upgrade his lifestyle. We never saw Ian again however I got a text later in the day asking how did I finish.

Hole 9 - No rain. Greens soggy. Jim and Andy still talking over a 75ft putt on one. Jeff waiting patiently.

Hole 10 - No rain. Tommy and Christy post an early 28. Coach and Tim with a 29 and the rest of the field is right there in the 30-33 range. Tommy proceeds to buy more beers for the team. Christy and Tommy proceed to drink them. Rich and Tubes hate us because I am eating peanuts drinking beer and throwing the shells on Rich's line on the green.

Hole 11 - No rain. Is anyone really still reading this? I doubt it because I would have gave up after hole 4. Jeff? You reading this? If so email me who the Mets are going to get as GM? Doctors - email me tips to a healthly lifestyle. Tal and Rich - who was the better athlete between the two of you? I've seen you both pull off amazing stuff. Linsdey and Kristen - when we going out? Charlie - why do you sleep through your alarm? Ian - got email?

Hole 12 - No rain. Everyone 720s down the hill. Everyone lives. Team Bob R and Nufer make eagle. Albs and Charbs start to make their run with a 3rd 3 in a row which was one of more to come. The playing partners of Andy and Jake felt the pressure of watching Dave make pars with Pinemeadow Golf clubs and competed to hang out the best they could.

Hole 13 - No rain. Tired. Drunk. Need to sleep. Hate Greek things. Tubner hit the best shot of the day. I know I didn't see the other 2374 other shots taken by the field but I assure you the chip in he had has the best shot of the day. No poll needed. No 4 hours of analysis required. I saw it and it was amazing.

Hole 14 - No rain. Eagle time by Lindsey and Kristen the new combers on tour. Andy and Jim missed the putt on 1. So they played on. At this point though they were finally finding there mojo and started to make birdies and pars giving them hope they could make a run.

Hole 15 - No rain. Hands down the hardest hole on the course for the field. The runners, up hill and narrow approach distracted everyone. Avg score on the hole was 4.2. Eagle by Charbs and Jeff was the only eagle on that hole of the day.

Hole 16 - No rain. Short, boring hole but Tal and Bob and Nufer team got it going late. Posting eagles to really make space between them and the rest of the field. When I say them it was Bob and Nufer time! Most all the other teams posted a par or birdie on this hole.

Hole 17 and 18 - Still no rain. Yes, I know. I have to pass out. Gyros, Greek Salad mixed in with beer and more beer has taken its toll.

Thanks for playing in the AAA and giving up your Sunday. I really had a good time and looking forward to future events.
