Warm Springs, OR -- Tal Wold and 2009 TGS Cup Champion Brett Hamel were the two players to throw their figurative middle fingers at Mother Nature, defying the frigid temperatures and blustery rain on Sunday to battle for the 2010 Tailgate State Cup Championship.  Tal's steady game and solid chipping around the green allowed him to claim the tournament despite Brett's eagle from 110 yards on the 12th hole during Sunday's round.  Jeff Albright's third place finish allowed him to eke out an overall first place finish in the season-long race for the Tailgate State Cup, narrowly edging out Tal in the closest finish of the organization's four years.

TGS Cup by the numbers:

0 - Confirmed illnesses due to food poisoning during the weekend and the most shocking statistic of them all.

1 - Number of players who walked off the course mid-round on Sunday due to sub-50 degree temperatures and sideways rain (Bob Albright)

2 - Number of players who declined to tee off on Sunday because of constant rain on Saturday night and Sunday morning (Scott Matulich and Darren Carlson).  Also, a bodily function that may have occurred in an unnamed player's shower on Sunday morning when he tried to pass gas.

3 - Tournaments won in 2010 by Mark Buckwold, making him the odds-on favorite to win the 2010 TGS Cup.  However, after the Wold Golf Championship, he would never be heard from again.

4 - Friendliness score (out of a possible 100) awarded to Cruz, the tattooed assistant golf pro and resident bad-ass at Kah-nee-ta.

5 - Combined KP and LD prizes claimed by Charlie Broadfoot (out of a possible 8) during the weekend that gave him a $90 pro shop credit.

6 - Players who shot their handicap or better on Saturday.  Only Tal and Brett were able to do so on Sunday.

7 - Average score increase per player on Sunday.

8 - Estimated number of times that Jim Rader let loose with a guttural, swearing scream on the back nine holes on Saturday.

9 - Number of times Tim Tyvand would have been escorted away from the blackjack table for inappropriate swearing or arguing had he been in Reno or Las Vegas instead of a podunk Oregon tribal casino.

10 - Number of times Rich Wold's daughters heard an inappropriate word uttered while meandering among TGS players.

11 - Percent likelihood that Dr. Nufer will ever decide to bring his wife and children to a TGS event again.

12 - Highest single score on any hole during the weekend (Tommy Berry on the par five 11th hole on Sunday).

13 - Combined birdies made by Brett Hamel (7) and Jeff Albright (6) during the weekend.

17 - Total number of birdies made by the tournament field.

25 - Dollar value of a "Green Machine" chip in the casino and subject of frequent chants by TGS gamblers.

33 - Number of holes (out of a possible 36) that Rich Wold scored either a 4, 5 or 6.

43 - Score shot by Andy Rader on the back nine on Saturday and the easiest scorecard to total:  seven 5s, two 4s.

62 - Approximate number of times the Texas Rangers' "Antlers" salute was performed by Tommy Berry during the weekend.

88 - Approximate percentage of time spent on the golf course that Tommy was thinking about the Rangers instead of his golf game.

100 - Dollar value of a "Black Machine" chip wagered by Charlie Broadfoot in a poorly timed decision (the dealer had blackjack).

135 - Dollars on Lance Meyerink's bar tab on Saturday night despite the fact that he was relatively coherent by the end of the night.  Stingy pours by the Appaloosa Lounge bartenders are suspected.

140 - Members of Oregon State's Alpha Chi Omega sorority that were present at Kahneeta.  Surprisingly, there were no reported inappropriate incidents.

162 - Combined gross score that pre-tournament leader Jason Wold would have needed to shoot to win his third TGS Cup title.

404 - Total miles Jason would have had to drive to participate in the tournament while still fulfilling his employer's expectations.

427 - Number of times Rinker struck the cowbell during his accompaniment of Rodeo Rose on stage at the Appaloosa Lounge.

455 - Total dollars won by Tal for tying for low round on Saturday, having the second lowest round on Sunday, winning the overall weekend total and finishing second in the Tailgate State Cup race.

500 - Dollars awarded as first place prize to Jeff Albright, 2010 Tailgate State Cup Champion.
