Banks, OR -- Andy Rader was the only player in the field to make a net eagle on the final hole and claimed the 2012 Al Fuego Invitational by one point over Tim Tyvand and Ian Lamont.  Andy also eagled the 14th hole, shot the lowest net score of the day and was in line at Golf Galaxy to exchange his prize before most competitors had finished their post-round beverages.

Tyvand's scorecard was the most interesting of the day with one double eagle (the only one made in the tournament), three eagles , four birdies, five bogies, three double-bogies and only two pars.  A disastrous finishing hole ruined what was otherwise an impressive round.

Lamont scored 17 points over a stretch of seven holes midway through his round and thought a final birdie on the last might have sealed the deal.  Ultimately, a double bogey on the par 3 fourth hole proved his undoing and cost him the second place prize due to complicated tie-breaking rules.

Normally a team event, this year the Al Fuego was a solo endeavor.  Handicaps seemed accurate, the weather was surprisingly cool and no injuries were reported.

The tournament host would like to thank Derek Koffel of the Hartford for donating prizes, the field of players for tolerating a frustrated and terse organizer and those who attended the after-party for not destroying his new house.
