The 2012 Tailgate State Golf Tour got off to a rousing start this past weekend with a star studded field for the 2nd annual Hamel Broadfoot Open. Sunny skies greeted 28 exceptional golfers at Stone Creek GC for a 4 man scramble that was a mix of birdies, birdie juice and sportsmanship.
Due to co-host Broadfoot being a bit forgetful by the end of the round, a lengthy write-up on specific golf shots and a person’s one shining moment is impossible.
I can’t remember the KP’s (Jason Wold, Rich Wold and ???) but Seth Harris won the LD on 8 with about a 360 yard drive. Team Broadfoot still couldn’t make birdie however but we digress.
Following the awards ceremony and distribution of some awesome customized pint glasses the participants relocated to the Hamel residence for an amazing par-tee hosted by Brett and Lindsay. From all accounts, including my hangover, this was a party that lasted until dawn.
On May 5th the TGS Tour rolls into historic Newberg, Oregon for the first annual El Campenonato del Club hosted by Bryan Norris. This is a two man best ball tourney. If you would like more details on this event please email Mr. Norris at bryannorris20@gmail.com
We thank all who were able to participate in the 2012 HBO and look forward to seeing you again on Tour this year!
