Let the record show that Saturday's round was played under the best blue skies that the Oregon Coast could ever offer. Scores were all over the place as both birdies and large numbers were made in equal amounts.  Much to everyone's surprise, Kayleigh (blackjack supervisor at Three Rivers Casino) joined the group on the first tee after interpreting a late night offer to join us on the golf course as an invitation to play. Thankfully, she proved to be good company and even held her own while playing from the blue tees.

Sunday brought heavy rain, then some clear weather before constant showers and strong wind gusts hit the players on the back nine. Two participants declined to tee off and were back in the Valley before the first shots of the day were struck. The final five holes became a battle of attrition as the field slogged their way around Florence's challenging final three holes, playing the par three 17th hole straight into the wind before navigating around the large water hazard guarding the left side of the 18th hole. Those who stayed and played deserve medals of achievement; though maybe not Rich who decided that white, cotton skinny pants were a good wardrobe choice in rainy weather.

Congratulations to those that played well and braved the elements. Condolences to those that missed a good time.
